Sridhar Vembu was born in 1968 in a modest middle-class Tamil family. A bright student, he graduated from IIT Madras and went on to earn a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University. His early career began in Silicon Valley, working at Qualcomm, where he contributed to wireless communication systems.
But even amidst all the opportunities in America, Sridhar was deeply influenced by Gandhian values and rural upliftment. While most IITians chased unicorn dreams in global cities, Vembu quietly laid the groundwork for something radically different.
